Rémi Lefebvre

– Board President

Rémi Lefebvre is a semi-retired executive producer and creative consultant who is presently completing a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology and Neuroscience at Mount Saint Vincent University. He is well-known in different artistic circles for his leadership and his strategic approach to production planning and organizational governance. These qualities are what inspired the founding members of OperAtlantic to invite Rémi to take on the role of Board President.

Prior to his return to academia, Rémi was an award-winning event professional who produced events from small intimate gatherings to large outdoor festivals welcoming thousands of attendees. His portfolio of past projects includes highlights such as Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEO Awards, A Different Stage of Mind with the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, and Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta in Halifax. Other notable clients included the Word on the Street, the Schizophrenia Society of Canada, and the Black Canadian Studies Association.

On the artistic side, Rémi has been teaching a combination of piano, saxophone, violin, music theory, and music history for more than two decades. He is a past president of the Nova Scotia Registered Music Teachers’ Association. He is also served as a board member and committee chair (Strategic Planning Committee, Translation Committee) with the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Associations.Rémi is excited to be working with the OperAtlantic team, helping the organization find its footing and build a solid foundation that will allow for sustainable growth. In particular, his focus is on developing organizational governance and operational policies that will facilitate the delivery of sustainable projects while fairly compensating the artists involved in their creation and delivery.
